Ann de Jongh

Ann moved to the Algarve (Portugal) in 2004, which drove her decision to change from her corporate background and retrain to pursue a living which reflected her true lifestyle and passion.

Ann had always been active, going to the gym, cycling, running and practicing yoga and saw the Algarve as the opportunity to change career paths and help people improve their own lives through health, fitness and nutrition. 

After first qualifying in 2004 as a Personal Trainer & Sports Massage Therapist she has broadened her knowledge base through qualifications in, Yoga, Nutrition, Mat Based Pilates, Functional Movement, Fascial Release and Thai Massage.   Over the years, experience of clients, situations and new techniques have enabled Ann to develop and practice an integrated approach which combines all the disciplines in which she is accomplished. Ann believes in looking at the body as a whole, without intentionally isolating individual areas and addresses everything from sleep, stress and food to flexibility, mobility, strength and stillness.

Ann’s Yoga teaching encompasses both ends of the spectrum from the dynamic and fast pace of Ashtanga to the stillness and reflective practice of Yin Yoga. The two work in harmony and Ann is a great believer that everyone needs more Yin in everyday life to balance both the known and unconscious stresses we put our mind and bodies through. 

When Ann is not working you will normally find her outside, walking with her dogs, surfing, paddleboarding, playing golf or just relaxing on the beach enjoying the meditative sounds of the ocean.
